A reputed recruitment and engineering support company in Qatar, Candidzone, is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Draftsman to support ongoing building and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate must have strong technical drafting experience in MEP systems including HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, and Fire Alarm systems.
The Mechanical Draftsman will be responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and layouts for mechanical and MEP systems used in construction projects. The role involves converting engineering designs into precise AutoCAD drawings while ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
The candidate will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and site teams to update drawings, modify designs, and ensure accurate documentation for HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire alarm installations.
• Prepare detailed mechanical and MEP shop drawings using AutoCAD
• Draft layouts for HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire alarm systems
• Modify drawings based on engineer instructions and project changes
• Coordinate with engineering and site teams to ensure drawing accuracy
• Prepare as-built drawings and documentation for project completion
• Ensure drawings comply with Qatar construction standards and project specifications
• Maintain organized records of drawings and revisions
• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Drafting Technology
• Certification in AutoCAD or other drafting software is preferred
• Knowledge of MEP engineering standards and design principles
• Minimum 6+ years of experience in mechanical drafting
• Strong experience in MEP building services drafting
• Experience working on HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire alarm systems
• Experience in construction or engineering consultancy projects preferred
• Advanced AutoCAD drafting skills
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems layouts
• Understanding of MEP coordination drawings
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Valid Qatar ID (QID)
• Candidate must be locally available in Qatar
